Aid for AIDS of Nevada better know as AFAN, has been servicing those affected with HIV/AIDS for over 24 years; it is the largest AIDS Service Organization in Nevada.
With 2600 registered clients and 10+ outreaches per month, AFAN manages to touch over 7,000 individuals in Nevada per year. A mixture of nose to the ground fundraising & community support has enabled AFAN to educate young and old about the high-risk behavior that can lead to infection, how to protect yourselves, and the importance of a healthy body for one’s own well being.
It is for all these reasons and because of the devastating affect that the HIV/AIDS pandemic has taken on the LGBT community, an estimated 8,000 of which were reported in Clark County, that CRUSH proudly sponsors the 2011 AIDS Walk Las Vegas at the World Market Center on April 17th
According to afanlv.org “Last year, more than 8,000 Walkers and Teams raised over $500,000. Over 250 corporate and community teams raised 70% of the total funds collected.” CRUSH would like to see those numbers increase, and thus we’ve created Team CRUSH to raise money for one of most important health issues in the world, and especially in Las Vegas. If you’re interested in being apart of the Team CRUSH for this year’s AIDS Walk please send your name, address, & phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org
